Some love stories are best told in the wild. The trees are ancient, the rivers run clear, and the air carries the quiet promise of something new. That’s exactly what Kaylena and David’s maternity session felt like, nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Sequoia National Park and the charming town of Three Rivers, California. As a Sequoia National Park Maternity Photographer I can bring your vision to reality.

A Session Full of Heart

From the moment we started shooting, it was clear this couple had something special. We began in Three Rivers, pausing outside the beloved Reimer’s Candies and Gifts — a sweet little landmark that added a touch of small-town charm to the session. Kaylena and David laughed, held hands, and leaned into each other. Showing an ease that only comes from two people who are genuinely, deeply in love.

As we made our way into Sequoia, the scenery opened up into something truly spectacular. The towering ridgelines, the rushing Kaweah River, and the golden light filtering through the hills created the kind of backdrop that makes every frame feel like a painting. We settled into a picnic on a blanket in the park, wandered the Indian Head River Trailhead, and paused along the river’s edge for portraits that felt as natural as the landscape itself.

Meet Rio

One of the most beautiful details of this Sequoia National Park maternity session? Kaylena stood at the river’s edge, cradling her bump — soon to be their son, Rio. It felt like a full-circle moment. There’s something profoundly moving about a mother standing at a river. Kaylena holding the child inside her who will one day carry its name.
